I hadn’t heard of Nopi before I was invited to for brunch here with some friends. I knew of Ottolenghi and its positive reviews however, so i came in with high expectations.

I was seated in a quiet spot at the back of restaurant, this had a delightful view of the entire room. The table was dressed neatly and adding to my expectations of a tasty meal.

I ordered a mocha and orange juice while i waited for my friends to arrive. The service was quick and the orange juice was fresh and chilled.
For my dish, i decided to try something on the healthy side and less ubiquitous within the brunching scene; black rice, coconut milk, banana and mango. This reminded me more of a Malaysian dessert than a Mediterranean breakfast, however it was delicious and quite filling. I was in fact unable to finish it.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the Nopi, the service was superb and the space was clean and bright. The black rice was slightly on the chewy-grainy side for me but otherwise i would order this again.

I also recommend visiting the toilets, if you like taking a few selfies in the mirror 😉
